Expert faculty:
The department of history has highly qualified faculty members with variety of areas of expertise. The faculty members are actively evolved in research activities and have published their research in the form of Ph.D. thesis, research papers in renowned Journals, articles in conference proceedings and reference texts. Head of the department Dr. Hrushikesh Dalavi is recipient of prestigious W. C. Bendre Gold Medal for best Ph.D. Thesis in History awarded by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
Excellent Curriculum:
The department offers 18 courses distributed in 6 Semesters. Additional courses are being designed to accomplish the directives of National Education Policy, 2020. After successfully completing all the courses the student completes his programme and is awarded degree of B.A. History. The department insists on participative learning and experiential learning to broaden the worldview of the learners. Activities like Study tours, external expert interaction are organised. The progress of the students is continuously assessed by adopting formative evaluation model.
Student centric activities:
The students are given opportunity to build a holistic personality by providing additional inputs. Students are motivated to develop a rational and critical mindset. They are taught analytical skills to build their own philosophy. Students are exposed to evolving fields of knowledge to make them future ready. Efforts are made to introduce students to various career opportunities.
Digital Initiatives:
The department has taken several digital initiatives. Pedagogical approaches like flipped classroom and blended learning are practiced for effective curriculum delivery. Students are encouraged to explore variety of e-resources to enhance their knowledge. Digital platforms like Google class are used to extend learning interaction beyond class hours.
